During my preparation, I read some of the stories again and came across this recent article &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/discovermagazine.com\/2011\/apr\/30-how-bad-luck-networking-cost-prasher-nobel\/article_view?b_start:int=0&amp;-C=\">How Bad Luck &amp; Bad Networking Cost Douglas Prasher a Nobel Prize<\/a>&#8221; published in the <a href=\"http:\/\/discovermagazine.com\/\">Discover Magazine<\/a>. The article provides an in-depth coverage of the struggles that Dr. Prasher has\u00a0 gone through over the years. I have been deeply impressed with his determination and noble attitudes over the years despite the difficult situations. I also really like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.millermobley.com\/blog\/2011\/03\/09\/the-fall-and-rise-of-douglas-prasher\/\">amazing portraits<\/a> that <a href=\"http:\/\/millermobley.com\/\">Miller Mobley<\/a> took for this article in the Discover Magazine.\u00a0 The lighting and composition of his work is outstanding that each picture is like an intense and charming moment that is frozen in time, including the ones for Dr. Prasher.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The other day I shared the story of Douglas Prasher&#8216;s\u00a0with the medical students in my class.\u00a0 Dr. Prasher&#8217;s contribution to the study of Green Fluorescent Protein had ultimately led to the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2008; however he was not one of the laureates because of life circumstances.
