When Prof. Kwoon Wong\u00a0\u00a0from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kellogg.umich.edu\/index.html\">Kellogg Eye Center<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.umich.edu\/\">the University of Michigan<\/a>\u00a0visited our department in early December, we seized the opportunity to learn from him and asked for his help to put the components together.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1525\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bio.purdue.edu\/lab\/leung\/blog\/?attachment_id=1525\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1525\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1525\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1525\" title=\"erg3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bio.purdue.edu\/lab\/leung\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/erg3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1525\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image courtesy: Lue Xiang @ Leung lab<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bio.purdue.edu\/development_disease\/directory.php?refID=25\">Dr. Don Ready<\/a> kindly let us used his fly ERG setup for our test. Dr. Wong spent an afternoon trying different parameters and finally we have obtained a very decent ERG trace.\u00a0\u00a0Many more friends and colleagues contributed to this endeavour, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bio.purdue.edu\/development_disease\/directory.php?refID=48\">Dr. Woody Walls<\/a> who gathered a number of components and laid down the foundation over a period of time, lab members\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bio.purdue.edu\/lab\/leung\/personalpage\/Prahatha.html\">Prahatha Venkatraman<\/a> and Lue Xiang who collected ample healthy embryos for the test, and Lue Xiang as the assistant of Dr. Wong during the course of experimentation. We would like to optimize this system further and are seeking highly motivated students with physiology and\/or engineering background.
